Snapchat is widely known for being one of the best tools when it comes to chatting with your friends and family, but recently the service has integrated with Our Stories in order to get an even better revenue. This experience basically allows sponsored photos to be taken by the users and it allows them to feel like a star. The whole thing is very simple actually, and the monetization seems to be even better this way because they don’t show those ads that might not be ok for all users.
Basically, you get a simulated experience of attending the event. The way it was done is that the images from the festival were taken by the professionals and they were transformed into a wonderful and more realistic way. The simple fact that they were taken from professionals clearly show how much Samsung has invested into the idea that this AMSA should be one of a kind. With just a few images the commercials were more realistic, and as such everything was a success.
There is a downside though, because the whole Snaps in the Story are however less natural and even lesser compelling than the user generated content that you would normally receive after such an event. In fact, the production team did try to make them appear natural, but nothing can be more natural as the user generated content. Seeing how the AMAs were made is not that impressive for the Snapchat users, because many persons use the app for chat and not informing them in regards to such a thing.
These clips however do show us that you can literally monetize your app nowadays from literally everything, and even showing videos on how the AMAs have been created is an interesting thing. The best thing about the whole idea is that Snapchat does not force you at all to do this thing, instead you can get the whole experience in an amazing manner, just watching for a little bit and skipping if you are not ok with the result.
There are numerous filters in the app to make the experience of watching the videos interactive, and while it might not be liked by everyone, the video set does seem very impressive and highly useful or at least funny. No matter how you take it, the simple fact that Snapchat developers managed to strike a deal with Samsung for this does show how much the internet and the online world have evolved. We look forward to see how Snapchat will evolve their app even further!
