Indicative is a brand new analytics startup based in New York. The company has come out of stealth beta in the last week and has shared their new browser-based platform. The service aimed specifically at marketers and product managers, and is looking to bring a visual, intuitive, easy-to-use platform to non-technical users. The founders – Jeremy Levy and Andrew Weinrich – have specifically stated that their new system is a cloud-based data system for dummies.
“Web and mobile analytics are broken. Existing platforms either require extensive configuration and training to use or are too simple to actually generate real insight. Analytics should be as simple to use as a spreadsheet,” says co-founder Jeremy Levy. “The question is how can we be massively disruptive?”
Let’s have a first look at the new application, which should allow the technically disinclined – in both mobile and web – to get their web or mobile analysis sorted without any difficulties. The main dashboard visible in the browser offers the ability to select a number of widgets, each of which is configurable based on your own requirements. The level to which it lets you create personalized views of your data is a strong ingredient of the new application.
The simple drag-and-drop interface enables users the pleasure of not having to learn SQL. The data compiled is formatted and presented in easy-to-view formats on your screen. The Indicative interface lets you pull certain specific events in to the main canvas area to kick things off, which is an interesting feature allowing you to filter data. Indicative’s founders also stated that clients can perform the process of compiling data with a few simple clicks, conducting sophisticated procedures usually the domain of expensive data scientists.
Fully set up and armed with the right metrics, users are able to follow real-time activity across various platforms and track behavior of sales and visitor rates. It also lets you view and compare consumer behavior over a specific period of time, so you can look back and analyze how key events impacted traffic.
The US-based company has a total of twelve employees, most of them engineers, and has raised most of their startup capital from Acadia Woods Partners and unnamed angels. In its short time in beta, it has amassed a respectable launch portfolio of customers, including Bloglovin, Splash, Gust, Picturelife, and 16 others.
