In what can easily become a shocker, numerous studies have managed to show a very interesting thing in the past few days. Since many developers are a little unsecure trying to decide the platform they develop for, they have easily found a reason behind the whole set of issues. Simply put, it seems that despite the flashiness, great design and other interesting things, the iOS based phones fail to engage the users like top of the line Android phones seem to do.
Why does this happen?
According to the study, it seems that the top of the line phones using Android OS are bringing a 40% more app engagement. There is no fragmentation of the market as it seems that the top of the line Android devices are accounting for up to 90% of the whole plethora of hardware you can find right now. Not only that, but the top IOS devices are accounting around 97% of the whole set of phones you can find right now. Despite that, people fail to adopt iOS 8, because more than half of the whole set of users are still willing to use the old OS as it tends to run better on their device, something that many might see as a shocker.
Statistics show the importance of Android
It seems that despite the great design offered by the iPhones, users want functionality, and this is exactly what the users want and receive. No wonder the Android platform has managed to obtain much better results, because their developers are thinking about the best possible ways to use the phone functions in order to achieve better results and astonish the users. This, of course, lead to some very impressive and even incredible results that you are bound to like for sure.
Why does this happen?
The answer here is simple, people do want more and more exciting features and the Android platform delivers them. At the same time, Android is known for the great customizability that other platforms just fail to deliver unfortunately. Thanks to the Android platform, you can open multiple apps at once, you can add a micro-USB card and bring a wide range of other functionalities that just enrich the customer experience. Moreover, Android brings push notifications into the mix as well, making the whole result a lot better and professional at the same time.
At the same time, iOS has a much higher fragmentation because of the multiple versions of operating systems on the market. Not only that, but there are fewer iOS only than Android only features, which means that the platform is a lot better and more feasible than you would expect at all times.
What do you think about the fact that Android high-end phones have a better app engagement rate than the iOS phones? Do you agree with the better functionality and customizability we mentioned? Let us know in the comments section!
